The brief was simple and challenging: find maximum density potential for this plot in one of the new areas that are developing in Doha. The customers for the rented villas will be executives that work for international companies based in Qatar. The common facilities will be housed in a Clubhouse that can also be rented for special events.
The owner family will have a large Villa with Majlis and a small mosque next to it.
The brief let us arrange the linear site with 2 entrances, one for the row of semidetached villas and the second for the private quarters. The formal face of the compound will be signified by the large Majlis and the mosque in the corner.
The architecture is contemporary and abstract in its appearance with large canopies to shade the main rooms from the sun, providing shelter and a unique character to the compound dwellings.
Our proposed composite programme that blend housing, leisure and social gatherings includes the following:
Semidetached Villas in a row:
A central access road gives access to the 16 villas ending in a roundabout that its marked by the entrance to the Clubhouse
- Clubhouse: this semi-public building will house dining rooms, gym with pool, and private club rooms that can be rented for social events .
- Private Villa: a larger detached villa facing the Clubhouse for the family of the owner.
- Majlis & Mosque: an independent building with its own access through a water garden for the larger gatherings and celebrations in the life of the owner´s family.
